Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering the competition. By participating in this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. The competition is run by BYD South Africa (the Promoter) in connection with the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026.
1. Definitions
1.1"Promoter" means BYD South Africa, the entity responsible for running this competition.
1.2"Competition" means the BYD test-drive competition run in connection with the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026.
1.3"Entrant" or "Participant" means any person who enters the Competition in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
1.4"Competition Period" means the period from 25 March 2026 at 00:00 to 3 April 2026 at 23:59 (South African Standard Time).
1.5"Test Drive" means a completed test drive of a BYD vehicle conducted at a participating BYD dealership during the Competition Period.
1.6"Race Ticket" means a single entry ticket to a category of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026 as specified at the time of winning.
1.7"Golden Ticket" means the single special prize ticket concealed within one race pack, entitling the finder to a BYD Dolphin Surf vehicle.
1.8"Dealer" means any authorised BYD dealership participating in this campaign.
2. Promoter Details
2.1The Competition is promoted by BYD South Africa.
2.2The campaign website for this competition is: https://twooceans.bydauto.co.za
2.3Queries relating to the competition may be directed to a participating BYD dealership or BYD South Africa's marketing team.
3. Competition Period
3.1The Competition opens on 25 March 2026 at 00:00 (SAST) and closes on 3 April 2026 at 23:59 (SAST). No entries will be accepted after the closing date and time.
3.2Entries submitted or test drives confirmed on the dealer dashboard after the closing date will not be eligible for the draw.
3.3The Promoter reserves the right to extend or shorten the Competition Period at its sole discretion, subject to notification to participants via the campaign website.
4. Eligibility
4.1The Competition is open to natural persons who are:
4.1.1South African residents;
4.1.218 years of age or older at the time of entry;
4.1.3in possession of a valid South African driver's licence; and
4.1.4able to complete a test drive at a participating BYD dealership during the Competition Period.
4.2The following persons are NOT eligible to enter:
4.2.1employees, directors, members, partners, agents, or consultants of BYD South Africa or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, holding companies, or associated companies;
4.2.2employees and staff of any authorised BYD dealership participating in this campaign;
4.2.3employees of any agency, supplier, or service provider directly involved in the administration, organisation, or execution of this competition;
4.2.4the immediate family members (spouse, life partner, parent, child, or sibling) of any person listed in clauses 4.2.1 to 4.2.3 above; and
4.2.5any person who has not completed a valid Test Drive during the Competition Period.
4.3The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant and to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions.
5. How to Enter
5.1To enter the Competition, a Participant must:
5.1.1visit a participating BYD dealership and complete a Test Drive of any BYD vehicle during the Competition Period;
5.1.2complete the competition entry form on the campaign website at https://twooceans.bydauto.co.za, providing accurate personal details including full name, surname, phone number, email address, province, preferred dealership, and race category; and
5.1.3have the completed Test Drive confirmed by the Dealer on the competition dealer dashboard.
5.2Walk-in customers: where a customer arrives at a dealership without having pre-booked online, the Dealer will assist the customer in completing the entry form on the campaign website before confirming the Test Drive on the dashboard.
5.3Pre-booked customers: where a customer has already completed the entry form on the campaign website prior to visiting the dealership, the Dealer need only confirm the completed Test Drive on the dashboard.
5.4Only one entry per person is permitted. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
5.5Entry is free. No purchase is necessary beyond completing the Test Drive at a BYD dealership.
5.6Entries submitted by third parties or on behalf of another person will not be accepted.
5.7The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries lost, delayed, corrupted, or not received for any reason.
6. Prizes

6.1A total of 188 prizes are available in this Competition:
6.1.1187 Race Entry Tickets to the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026. Each winning entrant will receive one race entry ticket to a category of their choice (Trail Run 16km / 24km, Ultra Marathon 56km, or Half Marathon 21.1km), subject to ticket availability per category.
6.1.21 (one) BYD Dolphin Surf vehicle (Golden Ticket prize) with a recommended retail price of R341,900. The Golden Ticket is concealed within one race pack and will be discovered by the recipient upon opening their pack.
6.2Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash or any other prize.
6.3The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value if circumstances make this necessary.
6.4Race entry tickets are subject to the terms and conditions of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon organisers. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any changes to the event programme or race categories by the event organisers.
6.5Travel, accommodation, transport to and from the event, and any other costs associated with attending the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon are NOT included and remain the sole responsibility of the winner.
6.6The BYD Dolphin Surf prize (Golden Ticket) is subject to availability and the standard terms and conditions of BYD South Africa. Vehicle colour and specification are at the Promoter's discretion.
6.7The Golden Ticket prize winner will be required to present the Golden Ticket as proof of entitlement before the vehicle is transferred.
6.8All prizes are subject to South African tax laws. Any tax liability arising from receipt of a prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.
7. Winner Selection and Notification
7.1Winners of Race Entry Tickets will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received during the Competition Period.
7.2The Golden Ticket winner is determined by the discovery of the concealed Golden Ticket within the relevant race pack. The Promoter does not predetermine or control which race pack contains the Golden Ticket.
7.3The draw for Race Entry Tickets will take place within 2 (two) business days of the Competition closing on 1 April 2026.
7.4Winners will be notified via the contact details provided at the time of entry (phone number and/or email address). The Promoter will make at least 3 (three) attempts to contact each winner.
7.5If a winner cannot be contacted within 5 (five) business days of the initial notification attempt, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select an alternative winner.
7.6The decision of the Promoter in respect of the winner selection and all competition-related matters is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
7.7Winners may be required to provide proof of identity, age, and residency before a prize is awarded.
8. Event Dates
8.1The Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026 will take place on the following dates:
8.1.1Trail Run (16km / 24km): Friday, 10 April 2026
8.1.2Ultra Marathon (56km): Saturday, 11 April 2026
8.1.3Half Marathon (21.1km): Sunday, 12 April 2026
8.2The Promoter accepts no liability for any changes to these dates made by the event organisers.
8.3Race tickets are valid only for the specific edition of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon 2026. Tickets cannot be carried over to any future edition of the event.
9. General Conditions
9.1By entering the Competition, all Participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
9.2The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any material changes will be communicated via the campaign website.
9.3The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Competition at any time without prior notice if circumstances beyond its reasonable control require it.
9.4Any attempt to tamper with or manipulate the entry process, or to submit fraudulent entries, will result in immediate disqualification of the Participant and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
9.5The Promoter, its affiliates, and its agents will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense (whether direct or indirect) arising from participation in the Competition or acceptance of a prize.
9.6If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed severed from the remaining provisions, which will continue in full force and effect.
9.7These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
10.1By entering this Competition, Participants consent to the collection, use, and processing of their personal information by the Promoter for the purposes of administering the Competition, contacting winners, and conducting related marketing activities.
10.2The Promoter will handle all personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
10.3Participants' personal information will not be sold or transferred to unaffiliated third parties without consent, except as required for the administration of this Competition.
10.4Winners consent to the use of their name, photograph, and likeness by the Promoter for publicity purposes in connection with this Competition, without further compensation.
